Scott Goyne
Design and Processing
Scott Goyne has married his extensive experience, knowledge, and training in industrial processing with his passion for plant based medicine and sustainable earth-friendly ecology systems. His diverse education has allowed him to study industrial fabrication, electrical motor controls, therapeutic herbalism, aromatherapy, organic farming with an emphasis on permaculture design, and ecologically sound building methods. His involvement with the Agricultural Mechanics Team, A division of FFA, landed him the National Gold emblem award in 1990. This participation gave him the skills of welding, plumbing, electrical, surveying, concrete work, and more!
His experience includes 13 years in the troubleshooting, repair and fabrication of industrial processing equipment; apprenticing abroad with working distilleries; design, manufacture, and sales of stills; operation of an essential oil and herbal extract company; work on the assembly and start-up of a crown model 2 polyvalent solvent extraction plant; technical assistance with cold seed presses for oil production; and instruction of distillation classes throughout the local communities.
Scott is involved with local programs such as The Sonoma County Herb Exchange, The California School of Herbal Studies and local community permaculture action meetings. He is also on the board of directors for the Mendocino Ecological Learning Center. This involvement, coupled with his burgeoning relationships with growers and producers locally and abroad, allows him to foster the concept of focusing on local agricultural solutions to offer a template, which may be used on a global scale. Distillation of aromatic plants contributes to a model, which allows growers to practice diverse bio-intensive farming practices. This offers prosperity for our community and earth alike.
