Oren Wool
Technology and Research
After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in Business Administration, Oren spent several years working as a professional photographer in Colorado. Lifestyle and outdoor activities combined with extensive travel in the United States allowed him to create a real connection with the people and places of his country.
As a wine sommelier, Oren was given the opportunity to indulge the passions of flavor and aroma. Working with a wine program focused entirely on Italy provided great cultural exploration and the challenge was rewarded with the prestigious Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine.
Following a theme of flavor and health, Oren moved to Seattle and dove into the tea industry. The Teahouse Kuan Yin provided a backdrop for the study of Chinese tea and the ritual of tea drinking and an introduction to the power of plants as medicine. During this time in Seattle, he also honed his computer skills attending classes in web design and database management at Seattle Central Community College.
Oren Wool was brought to the Aromatic and Herbal Medicine Industry in northern California in 2002. He is a student and an advocate of plant medicine. He was a resident at the California School of Herbal Studies and he seeks out conferences and lectures that focus on integrative plant medicine and sustainable business practices. In his position as Chief Operating Officer at Simplers Botanical Company, Oren was pleased to spend his time implementing green business practices, supporting organic agriculture and promoting the use of plants as medicine.
Comfortable in many diverse surroundings, Oren Wool has entered new occupations to become a manager and a leader. He has been successful in different industries with the same philosophy. Explore where you are not familiar, study what you do not understand, create a vision of where you want be and take action. His experience in running businesses with limited resources sharpened his innovation and sustainability skills and directed his career toward industries with beneficial societal impact.
